Example Update
I just dug this out of my paper journal while packing for my brief return to LA and with recent events I decided it was time to give a peek into another side of me, a side not many even think about with me.

I've become a student of history in the period since moving to England. As someone told me once I've embraced my nerd side with a passion in the last few months, well when you're on the phone at 3AM UK time to remind your dad to set your TiVo for Inauguration coverage its a sign. Even in the UK yesterday was the talk of everything from the building where I live (quite a few Americans live here either as part timers like me or full timers) to the pub I've become a regular at to the Tube stations. So that was why I had the stateside TiVo unit going, in spite of being overseas the history buff in me was not going to miss this without a fight. I ended up going through lots of old entires in both my laptop and paper journals and found that during major events I always seemed to write more, one event sticks out because I had gone into Spain to price a 6 month lease on a flat for an upcoming break from work. One of these days I should find that notebook and post what was written during that trip.

Not many outside the group know this but I'm an unabashed bookworm. I read anything I can get my hands on from Shakespeare plays to history to my fair share of trashy beach novels. So when I went to the bookstore to pick out books for this next trip I dove into the history section more than usual, I'm quickly becoming a student all over again but this time its on my terms and because I'm just the type to want to learn. Even if the classroom is via a book in a crowed airport concourse. Around the same time I also got addicted to travel and seeing places I had only read about before, hence my somewhat unusual idea of trip planning. I throw darts into a map and where the most darts land usually wins (the last trip being a day trip into Paris to take a tour of the opera house).

I also made a couple of small goals for the new year like learning to cook more than just picking up the phone for takeout and to keep growing my reading list. I'm also trying to learn Spanish so if the trip for tango lessons does happen I'll be ready for anything.

The one that is a work in progress is breaking free of Dru but I'm coming to terms with that and it just makes each new role another chance to show I'm more than a psycho vampire with crazy hands.

But for now things are getting more interesting by the day and I'm loving it.
